Original articles Short communications Case reports Reviews Perspectives Editorials

Original articles original research, either clinical or basic science
Emphasis on novel and new information Can be from Mmed dissertations should not exceed 4000 words

Short communication Novel ideas/procedures
no more than 1000 words and 10 references

Case reports rare clinical syndromes or presentations
not just a “weird case” Should be of significant educational value should not exceed 2500 words

Review articles Invited or submitted papers
review and synthesize recent literature on a given topic should not exceed 6000 words
