1. PPP calibration - purpose
Brings manager peer groups together to discuss the performance of their people and consider provisional ratings (how they intend to rate individuals)
To improve the fairness and consistency of how PPP ratings are approached across LR
Allows multiple opinions/perspectives to be considered (with the view that good open debate provides a more accurate and fair assessment).
Typically happens between May – July in advance of holding 1:1 PPP reviews in July
The PPP Calibration Matrix in the next slide is a suggested format to plot and project names against a managers provisional thoughts on performance ratings for discussion at the Calibration meeting

3. How to use the PPP Calibration Matrix
Use the coloured text boxes to add the name of the individuals being discussed
The different colours could indicate business, function, grade, country, area depending on the group being calibrated
Move the names to the correct position in the PPP Matrix based on the provisional PPP ratings ready for the meeting
