Second Party Era: 1828-1860 Rise of the Democrats
Andrew Jackson & Democrats Common man, farmers, universal male suffrage Whigs were Anti-Jackson party Henry Clay, northern industrialists only 2 Whig Ps who were aging war heroes (Wlm Henry Harrison & Zachary Taylor)
