Signals from Syk are rapidly transduced, resulting in degranulation, leukotriene production, and cytokine/chemokine gene transcription. The SLP-76/Gads/LAT interaction forms a multimolecular complex that localizes key signaling molecules in a spatial and temporal manner. Collectively, these events cooperate to induce degranulation and cytokine/chemokine and leukotriene release. The phosphatases SHP-1 and SHIP negatively regulate mast cell activation.
