Other Issues Measurement. There are a group of folks from the West Coast Convening (led by Dina Wilderson from Youth Care) that are pulling together their various data collection and evaluation instruments. While they are still early in their work, I think that there could be some exciting recommendations that come from this collaboration. City/County States of Emergency. In LA, both the city and county released homeless plans and there is a big push to get the California to declare a “state of emergency” around homelessness (which the governor appears unlikely to sign). Even if it does pass, we have been told that the governor gets to determine the resources that would be released through a state of emergency. It might be useful to learn how other communities have used states of emergency to address homelessness. Workforce Development. There remains critical needs for on-going work force development for individuals working in the RHY field.
