Project Goals/Progress
11/16/2018 Project Goals/Progress To test four current endovascular filters on the market: (Angioguard TM, Acunet TM, EPI Filter WireTM, and Neuroshield TM) Currently we are performing preliminary tests to determine a repetitive testing set up We have all the equipment necessary to perform experiments Heather Slide For those of you who do not remember Distal Protection filters are used during angioplasty surgery to protect the patient from stroke. The filter catches any plaque that becomes lose during the angioplasty procedure.

Project Goals/Progress
11/16/2018 Project Goals/Progress To redesign a more effective and efficient endovascular filter protection device We have yet to start the redesigning process, this all depends on the results of the experiments If the experiments do not finish in time then we would proceed on the redesign based on literature results Heather Slide

Project Goals/Progress
11/16/2018 Project Goals/Progress To accomplish all the testing experiments by the end of January This has not been feasible so far We have not set an end date for the experiments due to several problems we have encountered with the testing design and setup Heather Slide

Technology Experimentation
11/16/2018 Technology Experimentation We will be using a in-vitro flow loop provided by Carnegie Mellon University We have set up the in-vitro flow loop Heather Slide

Schedule Spring 2004 Perform experiments and achieve data ?
11/16/2018 Schedule Spring 2004 Perform experiments and achieve data ? Meet with advisors Write survey and send to physicians Filter Redesign ? Design Implementation ? Final Paper and Presentation ? Emily Future plans in spring 2004 include These are our major milestones for the spring semester. - Finish up all of the experiment and achieve the necessary data Meet with Dr. Wholey in the presence of Dr. Finol so we can report our findings (end of Jan) After all the collected data, we should start thinking about filter redisign and perform a FMEA and HFE Design Implementation will consist of several meetings with a coworker of Prof Gartner and our advisors And soon enough we should be able to start working on a solid works model and a design prototype - By the end of the spring semester we should be able to write a final paper and present our final work.

Team Chores Erdrin A. Heather G. Emily M. Further Literature Research
11/16/2018 Team Chores Erdrin A. Heather G. Emily M. Further Literature Research Set up group meetings Contact advisors Monitor experiment Take pictures during experiments Collect data during experiments Solid Works Modeling Write FMEA for redesign Write HFE for redesign Fax questionnaire to physicians Write-up questionnaire Sort and tally questionnaire results Put together final presentation Put together final paper Erdrin The words in orange are the chores that are not yet completed Although we have set chores for each member of the group, in any case someone can always contribute to help the Other member such that the project flows
