Northern/Southern Hemisphere Separated by the equator Equator divides the N and S Hemisphere and is located at 0° Latitude Eastern/Western Hemisphere Separated by the Prime Meridian Prime Meridian divides the E and w Hemisphere and is located at 0° Longitude

Also called parallels Equator is longest latitude line at 0° latitude Latitudes go to 90° either north or south Longitude Run north/south around the earth Also called Meridians Prime Meridian is at 0° longitude Prime Meridian is also known as the Greenwich Meridian Longitudes go to 360° circling the earth

Geography Tropical Zone – located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn Tropic of Cancer Located at 23.5° N Latitude Zones of Latitude Arctic Circle Located above 66.5° N Latitude Antarctic Circle Located below 66.5° S Latitude Temperate Zones – there are two One is located between the Arctic Circle and the Tropic of Cancer The second is located between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic Circle

Rotation of Earth around the sun Tilt of the Earth axis is 23.5° The axis is the imaginary line that runs through the center of the earth connecting the north and south poles.
