1 Introducing the new generation MASTERColour CDM Elite lamps
The best is going to get even better… Introducing the new generation MASTERColour CDM Elite lamps MASTERColour CDM-T / TC Elite 35W/930 and 70W/930 Concise technical datasheet

2 CDM-T /TC Elite 35W&70W/930 – preliminary technical data
Features Philips MASTERColour CDM Elite is raising the bar in retail lighting. A new generation Elite lamps replaces the existing Elite range and improves: lumen output +5%...+10% lifetime +25% (to hrs) red rendering: better red is visible new generation Elite lamps fit in existing luminaires(*) and can run on EM gear Benefits unique combination of: - Excellent quality of light - Lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) punch and sparkle make merchandise irresistable existing luminaires can be used without any adaptation long life and high efficacy make outdoor applications extra attractive (*) in some cases existing reflectors might need some adaption to get maximum LOR and optimal light distribution. Today’s Elite lamps can only be driven by EL gear. The new generation Elite T lamps are compatible with EL+EM gear! The new generation Elite TC lamps are only compatible with EL gear. 3 CDM-T /TC Elite 35W&70W/930 – preliminary technical data
Frequently asked questions What is new or different in this new generation of Elite lamps? This new generation CDM Elite lamps is based on breakthroughs in burner design, metal halide composition and burner processing. Burner shape is the only visible change compared to the existing Elite lamps, but the largest part of the change from Elite to the new generation happens inside the burner. What performance increase can we expect? New generation Elite has: more light +10% for 35W and +5% for 70W more life: +25% better red: visibly better When will the new lamps be available? The new lamps will become available from Sept. 15th 2010 onwards, with new codes (to enable easy phase in and phase out; see next page). There will be a phase-over period of 3 months. Can this new Elite generation also run on Electromagnetic (EM) gear? Yes, the new CDM-T Elite lamps can run on both EL and EM gear (35W and 70W). The current CDM-T/TC Elite as well as the new CDM-TC Elite cannot run on EM gear. Will performance be different on EM gear? The spec table below lists target performance on EM gear and shows differences in lumen output, lumen maintenance and life time. At launch moment we can have evidence of maximum hrs life on EM gear. We will continue tests and update specs once proven. What is the benefit of relamping standard CDM on EM gear with the new Elite generation on EM gear? The new Elite lamps perform substantially better than normal CDM, even on EM gear. See table below. Conclusion: relamping from normal CDM to Elite new generation gives more light (+15%) with superior maintenance (+20%..+30%), improves light quality (CRI + 8points), and makes red look visibly better.
