How did you or your group chose the topic?
Paragraph One
5
I selected the topic of the United States’ trade embargo against Cuba because I have become very interested in the history of our relationship with Cuba. Since U.S. citizens have just recently been able to travel to Cuba I was curious as to why we were not allowed to travel there before now. Sample of Paragraph 1
6
How did you or your group conduct your research?
Paragraph Two
7
I spent a great deal of time researching the history of the relationship between the United States and Cuba. Most of my research was online. I used information from the United States State Department website to read about traveling between these two countries. I used several websites like CubaEmbargo.procon.org to find out the history of the embargo. Sample of Paragraph 2
8
How did you or your group select your project category and then create your project?
Paragraph Three
9
I wanted to use lots of photographs of Cuba as part of my project
I wanted to use lots of photographs of Cuba as part of my project. I also felt like I needed to include written research. In order to not go over the word limit for an exhibit, I decided to create a webpage instead. I like building webpages so this seemed to be the project for me. I created the webpage using weebly. I entered the information and the photographs in the template that allowed me to set up my own page. Sample of Paragraph 3
10
How does your project fit the theme of conflict and compromise in history?
Paragraph Four
11
My project on the United States embargo against Cuba fits the theme of conflict and compromise in history. The embargo was first started against the sale of guns to Cuba back in 1958 but eventually covered almost all products exported and imported between both countries. This was the conflict part of my project. The compromise part of my project deals with Castro wanting to resolve the relationship with the United States through peaceful means, including lifting the travel ban to Cuba. Sample of Paragraph 4
