1 Mitotic Exit Molecular Cell

2 Figure 1 Cdc5p: A Molecular Switch during Mitosis
Cdc5p plays a central role during mitosis and links the metaphase-anaphase transition through its role in initiating degradation of the cohesin Scc1p with exit from mitosis by phosphorylating Bfa1p. How Cdc5p is activated during mitosis remains to be investigated. Cdc5p is degraded at the end of mitosis by APC-Cdh1p, allowing the reset of Bub2p/Bfa1p activity in the subsequent G1 phase of the cell cycle. Blunt arrows indicate inhibition, pointed arrows activation. Molecular Cell 2001 8, DOI: ( /S (01) )
