2 Breakdown of Semester Grade
Classroom Guidelines 8th grade is devoted to improving reading, writing, speaking, listening and thinking skills. Students have matured a great deal from 7th grade, but organization is still critical. Therefore, assignments are due on the date specified in the manner required. Work from excused absences is due within the same number of days that is equivalent to that leave of absence. Late or missing assignments will result in a 10% deduction each day the work is not turned in up to a 50% and students will attend Core + during their lunch hour to make up for missing or incomplete work. In addition, work that is incorrectly assembled (not double-spaced, lacking FCA’s, etc) will result in a 10% deduction. To assist you, students’ grades are posted on Power School. Students should be checking these grades regularly. If you have questions about their grades, ask your student first and then if you have questions or concerns feel free to contact me. It is essential that students arrive on time with all the materials needed for the class period. Students will need the following materials: lined paper, pen/pencil, agenda, highlighters, sticky notes, and reading material each day they attend class. Being prepared and organized helps students achieve the maximum success possible each and every day.
