2 Before Fame Suzanne Collins was born August 10, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut. Suzanne Collins was a Military kid, the daughter of an Air Force pilot. She was married in 1992. She graduated from the Alabama School of Fine Arts in 1980.

3 How She Became Famous She wrote as a children’s television writer.
After that, she published her book “Gregor the Overlander”. Then in 2008, she published her book, “The Hunger Games”. In 2009, she published “Catching Fire”. In 2010, she published “Mockingjay”.

4 Obstacles She Faced Youngest of four children.
She moved around a lot when she was young. She grew up during wars. She wrote a full series before getting really popular with The Hunger Games. What was the (full) series called? I see it in the photo, but it is helpful to the reader to name it in your bullet points!

5 Major Accomplishments
She wrote one of the most famous book series in the world, The Hunger Games. Total with that series, she sold over 50 million print and electronic copies. A movie has been made that made $152.5 million opening weekend. Now, not only is it a book series, it’s pretty much a brand (there’s backpacks, clothing, pins, etc.).

6 Personal Life She has a husband, a son that is 18 years old, and a daughter that is12. She lives in Connecticut. She is the youngest of 4 children. She is currently at work on a picture book with James Primos.

7 Other Interesting Information
One of her quotes says, “Destroying things is much easier than making them.” For the Collins family, history was an immensely important topic. As of this year, she is 50 years old. She has 2 cats that they adopted from their backyard.
