4 PROGRAMME STRUCTURE General Education
CCCU English Language Requirement 6 CUs Chinese Culture and Contemporary Life / Contemporary China: Challenges and Strategies/ Understanding Contemporary China 3 CUs Core General Education Component ≥ 12 CUs Programme Core Generic Courses 18 CUs Discipline-Specific Courses ≥ 24 CUs Electives ≥ 39 CUs (comprising ≥ 60% of curriculum) ≥ 24 CUs

5 Programme Structure At least 6 credit units for Associate Degree:
English Courses At least 6 credit units for Associate Degree: 3 credit units of English for Academic Studies (i.e. CGE1000 or CGE1500, depending on students’ English level upon entry) 3 credit units of English for Working Purposes (i.e. CGE2000 or CGE2001 or CGE2002 or CGE2003, depending students’ discipline)

6 Programme Structure I) A course on Chinese Culture: 3 credit units
Students are required to take 3 credit units of CGE26504 Contemporary China: Challenges and Strategies or CGE26503 Chinese Culture and Contemporary Life depending on their home division, or CGE26505 Understanding Contemporary China upon special approval by Programme Leader General Education Courses

7 Programme Structure II) Core General Education Component: 12 credit units Students are also required to take 12 credit units of core GE courses, with a minimum of 3 credit units from each of the following three domains : - Arts and Humanities - Society and Organisations - Science and Technology The fourth course can be from any of the three domains or “CGE2100 Advanced English Reading & Writing Skills”. Out of the 12 credit units taken, 3 credit units must be fulfilled by taking a course at level A2. General Education Courses
