What is NCAA Eligibility Center?
Evaluates & certifies prospective student athletes for collegiate competition at Division I/Division II schools NCAA focus on: Academic preparedness Sports participation High school courses Students who want to compete at NCAA Division I/II schools need to meet NCAA Eligibility Center requirements

Grade 9: PLAN Don’t wait! Start planning now!
Work hard to get the best grades as possible Take classes that meet NCAA requirements Talk to coaches about athletic abilities Register for a free Profile Page at eligibilitycenter.org to receive reminders about NCAA academic requirements

Grade 10: REGISTER Register for a free Profile Page at eligibilitycenter.org to receive reminders about NCAA academic requirements If you fall behind academically, ask your counselor for help finding approved courses you can take

Grade 11: STUDY Check with your counselor to make sure you’re on track to complete the required number of approved core courses Explore colleges that are both an academic & athletic fit Prepare for the ACT All juniors take the ACT on March List the NCAA Eligibility Center as a score recipient (Code: 9999) Request a transcript to be sent to NCAA at the end of your junior year

Grade 12: GRADUATE Complete your final NCAA core courses
If necessary, take the ACT or SAT again Submit your scores to NCAA Eligibility Center (9999) If free/reduced lunch students can receive a fee waiver Narrow down and visit college choices Submit college choices After you graduate on time, upload your final official transcript on Parchment ( with proof of graduation

I want to play a sport at a D3 school, do I need to register w/NCAA?
You do NOT need to register with NCAA Eligibility Center. D3 schools set their own admissions & eligibility standards.

Approved Core Courses Not all high school classes are NCAA approved core courses Examples of non-approved core courses: Non core areas: fine arts, drivers ed, typing, art, music, PE, welding Courses taught below grade level, at a slower pace with less rigor, basic, essential, or foundational courses Courses not academic in nature such as film appreciation, video editing, etc.

You can earn credit for a core course only once
You can earn credit for a core course only once. If you take a course that repeats the content of another core course, you earn credit for only one of these courses and the higher grade counts toward your core-course GPA. Repeat of one of the core courses will NOT be used to improve GPA if taken after beginning of senior year. It MUST be done prior to beginning of senior year!

Competitive levels comparable to D2 schools NAIA Freshman Eligibility Requirements Steps to Take Additional Information Meet TWO of the following requirements Minimum 18 on ACT OR 860 on the SAT Minimum overall GPA 2.0 Graduate in top half of your high school class Register at When you register for ACT/SAT include the NAIA Eligibility Center using code 9876 Read Guide to NAIA Guide for the College Bound Student Athlete Early decision Registration Fee: $70 NAIA Connection Service: Allows you to create a customized sports resume.
