3. Question Paper This is the new component of the course
Pupils will be tested on the following areas:
Spreadsheets – advanced formulae and functions (approx. 20 marks)
Database – queries, forms and reports (approx. 20 marks)
Theory (approx. 10 marks)
SQA Exam will take place on Wednesday 2 May 2018

4. Assignment This will be completed in class, UNDER EXAM CONDITIONS
Pupils will be tested on the following areas:
Word Processing/Desktop Publishing (approx. 30 marks)
Communication – PowerPoint, Internet, /Ediary (approx. 30 marks)
Theory (approx. 10 marks)
This is scheduled to be completed week beginning 12 March 2018

5. Preliminary Examinations
Assignment – completed in class, under exam conditions
WEEK BEGINNING 11 DECEMBER
Exam – will be completed during Prelim Diet
10 – 23 JANUARY 2018

6. Pupils Not Coping at National 5
Following unsatisfactory performance in Prelim Exam, some pupils may be recommended to move to National 4
Pupils will then complete a range of tasks in each of the following areas:
Admin Practices – Theory
ITSA – Spreadsheet, Database, DTP etc
CIA – PowerPoint, etc
Pupils will also have to complete an Added Value Unit
ALL Assessment tasks require to be completed by Friday 27 April 2017

7. What Can You Do To Support Your Child?
Encourage them to attend class every period
Ensure that any homework issued is completed
Encourage them to ask for help if experiencing difficulty
Supported study is available Thursday lunchtimes

Core Notes – all pupils have been issued with these – Yellow Cover – should be reading them over on a regular basis
Bright Red Study Guide is available from Pupil Share and can be uploaded to One Drive
Help Guides for Access, Excel etc are available from Pupil Share and can either be printed off or uploaded to One Drive
Efiles can again be uploaded to One Drive
