To advance knowledge through basic and applied health research, especially research focused on the needs of the U.S./Mexico border

The residents of our region suffer from disproportionate rates of asthma, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, elevated blood lead levels, antibiotic resistant infection, and other debilitating conditions.
