Problem / Question State the problem or question.
Like….what kind of bug spray kills ants the quickest?

Research Gather information in the form of research. (articles, magazines, journals, internet, etc)

Experiment Experiment to test your hypothesis
Independent variable-. What you are testing. Dependent variable- what you measure Constants- things that you keep the same to keep the experiment fair

Data Make observations about the experiment and record them in the form of data. (usually graphs and tables.)

Analyze Analyze the data (figure out what it means)

Conclusions Draw conclusions about your hypotheses from the data.

Repeat Repeat the experiment to make sure it is reliable.
If the results continue to support the hypothesis, it can be called a theory. Law – naturally occurs and we can’t always explain it (gravity)
