The Creator Created by Hanna-Barbera, the wacky races was like no other animation. There inspiration came from a 1965 comedy animation called the great race. Soon after, on September the 14th 1968, the very first episode was released. Each episode contained two races – each racer hoping to win. H-B Enterprises was formed in 1957 when animation directors William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (Creators of Tom and Jerry) and went into partnership with Columbia Pictures' Screen Gems who were then sold Taft Broadcasting who were very successful. That was where the Wacky Races was born and they were more successful than ever.

These were the people: Daws Butler, Don Messick, Paul Winchell, Janet Waldo, John Stephenson and Dave Willock as the Narrator. Taft Broadcasting had a team of people who created the pictures and then flicked through them – there was up to 3000 pages per animation that made the animation run so smoothly.
