Careers Career – general work direction
Career Pathway – grouping of occupations involving similar education and interests. Examples: wildlife management, wildlife recreation, wildlife rehabilitation, wildlife research, wildlife education, wildlife law enforcement.

Entrepreneurship Entrepreneur is a person who starts and owns their own business. Usually a unique business Most start small and grow to minimize the risks Examples: fishing guide, bait and tackle store owner, hunting supplies store owner, game processing business, game preserve owner.

Leadership – ability to influence others Follower –individuals who adopt the ideas or goals of the leader Relationship – bond or trust between leader and followers Process – credibility among the followers Influence – ability to motivate Service – good leaders put the welfare of their followers above their own

Work Habits Life style – good workers have wholesome lifestyle (no substance abuse) Respect for others – employee conflicts are #1 problem Loyalty – say good things about employer Learn new things – good way to advance Happiness – have good sense of humor; smile Assume responsibility – be honest; you reflect your employer

Safety – taking steps to eliminate danger of hazards F&W Hazards: Animals – both live and dead Plants – some are poisonous Power Equipment – some are dangerous (saws, etc.) Restraints, guns, traps Chemicals, fuels, medications Fires & Explosion Weather – excessive exposure to sun, cold, even fire
