Starter Activity On the table you’ve been given, sort these things into ‘good for you’ or ‘bad for you’: Running, Smoking, Cannabis, Sit ups, Balanced Diet, Cocaine, Jogging, Weight lifting, Saturated Fat, Sugar, Salad, Beer, Wine, Chocolate, Sleep, Stress, meditation.

What is Heart Rate? Find your pulse.
Count the number of beats while your partner times 1 minute. Write down your result This is your heart rate in beats per minute (bpm) We call this your ‘resting’ heart rate. To get an accurate result: measure it 3 times, then calculate a mean average.

Blood Pressure What is blood pressure?
The pressure that your blood puts on your blood vessels while being pumped around the body. Measure your blood pressure using the machine. Record your reading.
