Throughout the school year, we will be using the Scientific Method, Engineering and Design Method within inquiry based learning. We will also focus on the history and nature of science, including famous scientists, careers, and technology & society. Quarter Two Solar System Phases of the moon Constellations Eclipses *Science Fair will be due in December, just before break. Quarter Four Health-Environment Health-Peer pressure, decision making, health issues Health & cultures Health & communication Quarter One Geology - Structure of the Earth Rock cycle, erosion, deposition, rock cycle Boundaries & landforms Earthquakes, volcanism, & plate tectonics *Science Fair Begins in classroom Quarter Three Ecology – Changes in the environment Food Webs Interaction of organisms (predation, symbiosis, etc.)

Make-up Work Students are responsible for obtaining make up work and instructions before or after school. Alternative assignments may need to be given for longer absences. Please advise us if you plan a trip. The same number of days are given to complete the make up work. Student should see teacher

Communication Checking Grades Online
Infinite Campus portal is available via our SJHS webpage and can be added as an app for your phone. Students ID#s and a student-created passcode will begin the process. WEBSITE Visit Santan’s website online to access information and individual teacher’s webpages & calendar of tests and important events. Each daily assignment is not posted. Check agendas! AGENDA Every student has an agenda that has both the school rules and daily calendars Each teacher writes classwork and homework on the board to be copied to the student’s agenda Parent signatures are required on agendas every Thursday night along with a grade check using Infinite Campus.
