Business Need Aging physical infrastructure on critical application systems reaching manufacturer’s end of life (EOL). Risk of unsupported equipment failure that can result in prolonged system downtime and or data loss. High risk of prolonged interruption of core SOS services increases the longer we wait to replace it. Inability to recover swiftly from hardware failures resulting in unplanned and prolonged downtime and data loss; New system applications, including SERVIS and NMBFS, are quickly outgrowing the current storage, performance, and redundancy capacity of the current hardware platform; Unmet statutory requirements for a failover site for SERVIS; and Increased security risks – designation of election systems as critical infrastructure highlights the debilitating impact an outage or compromise of an election system.
