Federal Updates DOT Medical Certificate
Electronic reporting of DOT Physicals for all CDL drivers From Certified Medical Examiner to FMCSA From FMCSA to State Effective date: June 22, 2018 (will be delayed)

Federal Updates Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT)
Minimum training requirements for entry-level applicants Separate Passenger & School Bus Curriculum Theory, Behind the wheel – Range & Road Will apply to all NEW CDL drivers Will apply to ALL disqualified CDL drivers (non-medical)

Trainers will Register with FMCSA & report electronically to FMCSA; possible electronic interface with State DL system States will record training in driver record; won’t be able to issue new CDL’s if training isn’t complete FMCSA revised the Final Rule March 21, 2017

Missouri has petitioned an even exchange of Military CDL for Civilian CDL Lots of questions on how to do this and still have States be able to comply with individual jurisdiction requirements and statutes No definitive effective date
