1 Area and Perimeter (P3) Definition:
Area = Amount of space that cover the surface Perimeter = The distance around the figure Area Perimeter

2 Area and Perimeter Formula Area of Square : side x side
Perimeter of Square : 4 x side breath length Area of Rectangle : Length x Breadth Perimeter of Rectangle : Length + Length + Breadth + Breadth ( 2 X Length ) + ( 2 x Breadth ) Note: Do you know how to find the length or breadth if area or perimeter is given?

3 x  36 ÷ 4 = 9 OR 6 x 6 = 36 Ans: 6 m Given Area of a Square
Find the length. Area= 36 m2 x ? m 36 ÷ 4 = 9 OR 6 x 6 = 36 Ans: 6 m

4 Given Perimeter of a Square
Find the length. Perimeter = 64 cm x ? cm 64 ÷ 4 = 16 OR 8 x 8 = 64 Ans: 16 cm

5 Given Area of a Rectangle
10 m Find the breadth. Area = 70 m2 breadth 70 ÷ 10 = 7 Ans: 7 m

6 Given Perimeter of a Rectangle
20 cm Find the breadth. Perimeter = 60 cm breath – 20 = 20 20 ÷ 2 = 10 Ans: 10 cm

7 Area and Perimeter Composite figures? Examples

8 Why do we learn Area and Perimeter
