1. Shelter Building Criteria

2. Goal
In groups of 4-5 students, build a survival shelter with no tools, and only use the resources found around in the bush.

3. Rules NO FIRES NO SMOKING DO NOT LEAVE School property No tools
Only use the twine given to you. 3 Pieces
DO NOT STEAL from other groups
DO NOT DAMAGE other groups structures

4. Rules Do not break living trees or branches. Only use dead fall.
Keep shelter sites away from other groups to prevent groups from fighting over resources.
Listen for the whistle – One long whistle blast means come inside
This will happen minutes before bell
Meet back in the classroom
Wear appropriate clothing – It can be wet outside

5. Type of Shelter
You may build any type of structure we have talked about or seen as long as it does not require any tools, outside materials, and can be built with just your hands.

6. Assessment You will have around 1 week to build your shelter
This is worth 5% of your Final Mark
1% of your mark will be assessed by your GROUP MEMBERS
4% of your mark will be assessed by ME

The Shelters will be built South of the track
