1 Class Expectations and Procedures

2 Conduct Log Misbehaviors will be logged in our team’s digital conduct log form.

3 Conduct Grades 0-5 entries= Conduct grade of “Satisfactory”
Conduct grades are determined by entries in the Conduct Log… 0-5 entries= Conduct grade of “Satisfactory” 6-10 = Conduct grade of “Needs Improvement” 11+ = Conduct grade of “Unsatisfactory”

4 Earning Your Grade 50% of your grade comes from Instructional Tasks
classwork, journal artifacts, quizzes, etc. May be re-done to improve grade 50% of your grade comes from Assessment Tasks Unit projects, tests, etc. May not be re-done

5 Beginning Class Read today’s agenda and focus question.
Fill homework in your agenda. Gather all supplies. (Notebook, textbook, etc.) Begin Power-Up assignment within first 3 minutes after entering class.

6 DO IT! What do I do if I need to... Sharpen my pencil? Get a tissue?
Get my ISNb out of the filing cabinet? Get the supply bin off the shelf? DO IT! You don’t have to raise your hand for every little thing, but you should NOT disrupt the teacher or others when doing these things.

7 Tardy/Leaving Class Need to leave? Wait until appropriate time
Fill out pass in agenda Have teacher sign it Sign out on the clipboard Take agenda with you Sign back in on clipboard Tardy? Sign in on the conduct log Quietly join your group

8 THE FILING CABINET DRAWER MARKED WITH
Bring to Class Daily Interactive Science Notebook (ISNb) Pencil/Paper Science textbook Colored pencils *There is a place to store your ISNb in the room if you would like to.* THE FILING CABINET DRAWER MARKED WITH YOUR CLASS PERIOD

9 Can I Chew Gum in Class? NO! We do too many labs to have gum! It is a safety issue! We will cover this more in lab safety!

10 Classroom Supplies Available for your use: scissors, tape, highlighters, markers, colored pencils, glue, rulers, etc. They are in marked bins for each group. *Take care of these supplies!* Insert a picture

11 If you’re absent... Check website and Google Classroom for what you need to make up. Look in “Make Up Work” box for any handouts. Insert a picture

12 Clock Buddies & Lab Groups
These will be used from time to time for partner work. Lab Groups Cooperative groups used during lab tasks These switch up often!

13 Turning in Work Double check that your assignment has your name.
Turn into the box BELOW your class period label.

14 Emergencies: Fire NO TALKING! Line up at the door.
Exit the classroom and turn right. Exit building through door by Mrs. Oliver’s room. Walk into the grass near softball field. Last person in line closes the door and turns off lights. Wait quietly for roll to be called.

15 Emergencies: Tornado NO TALKING! Line up at the door.
Proceed to the 8th grade hallway, and line up along the lockers. Listen for teacher instructions. It will be a tight squeeze! Take attendance. Crouch on knees, cover head.

16 Emergencies: Intruder/Lockdown
NO TALKING and NO PHONES!!! Lock the door, turn off lights Cover windows Move to anchor ** If you see something strange, say something to Mrs. Oliver**

17 Be ready for a quick quiz on this information tomorrow!
