1 Medical Insurance Update
June 15, 2017 We are sharing some information now to ensure you get this information here, but please know that there will be much more information at open enrollment in August.

2 PAISBOA Health Benefit Trust has hired Aetna to provide medical network services to HBT participants starting November 1, 2017 for the and health plan years. We are leaving Independence Blue Cross. The Trustees made this decision in April – 6 months before the transition date - in order to guarantee a smooth transition. The Trustees unanimously decided that claims management and cost control, customer service and satisfaction, and network access will be superior with Aetna. This was not a decision to be taken lightly. IBC has done well for the Trust for the past 50 years. While many meetings were had with both vendors, and much in-depth research and comparison were done, the final decision was based on four primary factors

3 Why Claims Cost Control and Claims Target Guarantee
Innovative, value-based approaches on population health management to better accomplish the Triple Aim of high quality services, increased patient satisfaction and well-being, and lower overall costs of care. The trust is looking for a carrier whose networks can provide excellent care while managing costs.

4 Why Customer Service and Dedicated Service Team
Network Access (local and national) Administrative Services Only (ASO) Fees
