What structures constitute the central nervous system? The peripheral nervous system?
What are the primary functions of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems?
Know the structure of generic neurons: dendrites, cell body, axon, axon endings
Understand that an action potential is an electrical signal transmitted in one direction down a neuron that depends on chemical differences inside and outside the neuron. You do not need to know details of how this process works.
What are neurotransmitters? How do they pass signals from one neuron to another?
