In four sentences, write down your best response to these questions. You may use your technology. When did we go to war with Iraq? Why did we go to war with Iraq? Who were the leaders of Iraq and the United States when they went to war? What have you heard about what people think about this war? Do they approve of it or not? 3 Islamic State in Iraq and Syria
ISIS is a group that is genuinely conquering large areas in the Middle East - and causing a refugee crisis that impacts the whole world. In your online notebook, title the heading “ ISIS Article” and answer the following questions as we watch What type of government does ISIS hope to establish? What specifically does ISIS do to make themselves so well known? Do you think the United States should send our own troops to combat ISIS? Why or why not?

4 ISIS Article We will read an article explaining President Obama’s 2014 plan to “degrade and destroy” ISIS. Notice in this article we see President Obama acting on his own, but other times, he says he needs Congress. Try to annotate these parts of the article to make sense of them. This article has been uploaded as a word document so that you can copy and paste it to your online notebook. Once it has been copied you may write comments in any color font of your choosing (other than black) and highlight the main ideas of each paragraph.
