Comprehensive Diversity Framework “We make this stuff up!” Hiring processes to “be on the side of inclusion.” Confront the brutal facts “Get to Yes!” “It’s about COMPLETION!” Cultivating Leadership Skyline College President’s Innovation Fund Comprehensive Diversity Framework -Effort that the college engaged in to look at our own practices, policies, and procedures to Get in, get through and graduate on time. -Learn about barriers and remove them -Culture shift -Culture of innovation -President’s innovation fund to dream out loud--- ideas get funded -Sense of urgency to remove barriers for students -Skyline College Promise -Led to Guided Pathways Confronting Brutal Facts What is the fall-to-spring persistence rate for first time students with a goal of degree or transfer? What is the three year completion rate for first time full time students with a goal of degree or transfer? How many units, on average, do students attempt in order to earn their first Associates Degree? How many units, on average, do they earn? President’s innovation fund to dream out loud--- ideas get funded Supporting innovation means that people bring evidence-based research, student-focused responses, and the praxis and literature to advance our educational institutions to do better by and for students. Get to YES-Sense of urgency to remove barriers for students Focus on completion– development of Skyline College Promise----led to addressing completion----led to Guided Pathways, ASAP replication, focus on PD for Teaching and Learning -Shared learning experiences -Intentional investigation and learning of other colleges/universities Cultivating Leadership- CDF work, Leadership retreat, hiring practices, leadership development, Leadership standards of excellence, leadership at all levels

This work needs to transcend all of us for it to have meaningful change for the institution and for future generations of students.
