MOUNTAINS Define: a high rounded or pointed landform with steep sides. It is higher than a hill.

VALLEYS Define: an area of low land between hills or mountains.

BASINS Define: an area that is lower than the land around it; a hole or hollow place in the earth’s surface that can hold water.

STREAMS Define: a small current of water flow.

SEAS Define: a large body of salt water; similar to an ocean.

BAYS Define: part of a body of water that goes into the land.

GULFS Define: a large body of water that goes into the land.

BOUNDARIES Define: the divide between different areas of land.

PENINSULAS Define: land that is nearly surrounded by water.

ISLANDS Define: a body of land entirely surrounded by water.

STRAITS Define: a narrow passage of water connecting two large bodies of water.

ISTHMUS Define: a narrow strip of land that connects two larger bodies of land and is surrounded by water on two sides.

CANYONS Define: a deep ravine or gorge that typically exists between two cliffs.
