IFLE PROGRAMS
Support opportunities for U.S. students, teachers, faculty, and school administrators to develop knowledge and understanding of other world regions and languages.
Grant programs provide resources to enhance the teaching of languages and incorporate global studies into U.S. curricula.

3. TITLE VI NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTERS
100 National Resource Centers (NRCs) across the U.S.
NRCs focus on particular world regions, provide:
Professional development for educators (summer institutes, workshops)
Travel opportunities for teachers
Speakers for K–16 classrooms (in-person and Skype)
Lesson plans, curriculum materials, culture boxes
Each center has an outreach coordinator that works with K–16 teachers and schools.

4. FULBRIGHT-HAYS SEMINARS ABROAD
4-6 week seminars abroad each summer
Participants draw on experiences abroad to create new, cross-cultural curricula for classrooms and school systems in U.S.
Usually 3 seminars each year (16 participants each)
Recent seminar locations include: Bulgaria, Chile, China, Ecuador, India, Peru, Poland, Thailand
Applications usually accepted in late fall/early winter

5. FULBRIGHT-HAYS GROUP PROJECTS ABROAD
Grants to institutions to organize overseas projects focused on a particular theme or language
Funded projects in FY 2018 include:
Teaching and Learning about Africa in K-12 Schools: A Short-Term Curriculum Development Project Seminar in Ghana for American Educators
Education, Society, and Globalization in China: A Collaborative Teacher Training Program
Advanced Russian Language and Area Studies in Eurasia
Educators apply directly to institutions that have received a GPA grant
