13 Source of discrepencies for the selected MDG indicators
Indicator : Tuberculosis incidence rate Age group: All age ranges Location: Total (national level) Sex: Both sexes Units of measurement: Per 100,000 population Discrepencie : 18% Explanation : different data sources, different methodologies One reason for the differences may lie in the fact that international figures are estimated by WHO while national figures are calculated using data from surveys, roughly every five years. Another source of differences seems to be the use of a different base population: WHO uses the UNDP projections, while the Ministry of Health uses the estimates of the HCP. International value more optimistic

14 Indicator : Population using improved drinking water sources
Age group: All age ranges Location: Urban Sex: Both sexes Units of measurement: Percent Discrepencie : 1% Explanation : different data sources Country data use HCP population projections; International data are based on UNDP population estimates. Very little difference

15 Indicator : Internet users Age group: All age ranges
Location: National Sex: Both sexes Units of measurement: Per 1000 population Discrepencie : 23% Explanation : different methodologies - Source for country data ANRT - Country data uses number of households that have access to the internet. However, the international definition uses the number of individuals that have access to the internet. Country data under estimated
