Electronic Citations Initiated in June 2002
Developed an e-citation prototype Prototype deployed in January 2003 Tickets electronically uploaded to AOC server Initial pilot: Heflin weigh station Subsequent deployment: Statewide MCSAP unit Working toward 2-3 local PD pilots

Bus Based - Advantages Simplifies the constituent applications:
No need to deal with peripherals Only need to communicate with the bus, not with every other possible application Multiple applications cannot share scanner/GPS access without conflict and manual intervention Single point of interface to these devices
