September 12-16, 2016

Getting into Shape! This week, the children have been exploring shapes and discovering how shapes make up just about everything we see! AH, LG and FB searching for hidden treasures in rice and sorting them by shape using forks and tweezers.

Shapes with Yarn The children enjoyed using yarn to create BIG shapes on our group carpet. They started off with just making simple shapes, but then took their creativity to the next level and built a car! LT & SC figuring out how to arrange each of their yearn pieces to make one big square. VB & SC [inside their ‘car’]: “We made four circles for the wheels!”

Graphing Emotions On Friday, the children shared how they felt by making a picture graph! They did great with reading our graph to figure out how our class was feeling. …Clearly, we have a very happy, yet EXHAUSTED class
