Standard 1 LT#1 Processes for Involvement in the Arts 1.1 Creating: I can understand the process of creating art. 1.2 Performing: I can understand the process of performing art. 1.3 Responding: I can understand the process of responding to art.

There are 3 distinct processes for the Involvement in the arts.

Includes the expression of a student's unique ideas, feelings, and responses in the form of a visual image, a character, a written or improvised dramatic work or the composition or improvisation of a piece of music or dance.

The result of the creative process.
The Product The actual artwork. What the artist has to show for his/her work. The result of the creative process.

This is a process that calls upon the student's interpretive skills.
Performance recreating an existing work. This is a process that calls upon the student's interpretive skills.

responding RESPONDING refers to the interaction between a student and a particular composition. It is central to the creative and performing processes. A response can be verbal or nonverbal. It results from a judgment or evaluation based on criteria established by an individual, a group, or culture.

In the Visual Arts, performance may include the creation of an original work.

Paintings, Drawings, Photos
Two-Dimensional- Has height and width Paintings, Drawings, Photos

Three- Dimensional- Has Height, Width and Depth;
Sculpture Ceramics

Sculpture in the Round: meant to be viewed from all sides.
Relief Sculpture: Projects from a background. Linear: Made from tubular items; wires, tubes. Ceramics: Items made from clay.

Medium and Tools Medium: Art material used to create the artwork…paint, pastel, pencil, clay…(plural: media) Tools: What we use to apply or otherwise manipulate the medium…paintbrush, palette, palette knife, blending stumps/tortillions.
