Nominations Students can be nominated at any time during their educational career at Lafayette Elementary Any one can nominate a student for TAG Assessment Tag Committee meets monthly to discuss recent nominees Parents are notified after a determination has been made

Advanced Learning Plans
Once a student has been identified as TAG, an Advanced Learning Plan is developed for the school year. Parents are given an opportunity to provide input for the various goals placed on the ALP Teachers will also provide input throughout the development of the ALP. Most students will have 3 goals Academic Goal - focusses on the student’s strengths Affective Goal – focusses on the appropriate social/emotional development Production Goal – focusses on opportunities for the student’s work to be seen by an authentic audience

Math – the student will participate in a challenge math group that will spiral through the grade level content and extend into next years content. The student will perform at a high proficient or advanced on their grade level assessment and off grade level assessments. Affective Goal The student will share with small group ideas and conflict resolution strategies surrounding interactions with friends on the playground. Class meetings, bibliotherapy

Conferences Conferences are in October this school year. This is a great opportunity to set goals for your child with their classroom teachers. Please contact the TAG office if you would like to have a separate conference.

Activities Hundreds of children will be eager to participate in various after school activities. After School Clubs (just to name a few) Destination Imagination All Grades (Team managers needed) Choir (Intermediate) TEAMS (Intermediate) Chess Oratory Club/Shakespeare 5th Grade Robotics Cooking Class – Third Grade Before School Clubs Jump Rope Club
