General (Function Overview)
Calculation Final calculation Order calculation Batch final calculation Product calculation Order calculation: You can go straight to the calculation via the SAP quotation or order entry, as a rule the work order is also then generated from the order calculation (particularly useful for make-to-order production) Product calculation: Individual calculation that is usually generated after or during the creation of a new product Batch precalculation: This is used to precalculate several items or item ranges, the results can be copied into price lists or used to specify entry prices (standard costs) . Final calculation: The final calculation is based on a work order and provides the opportunity for a target/actual comparison Batch final calculation: This gives you the opportunity to conduct a final calculation for several work orders over a specific period of time Batch precalculation 11/17/2018

General (Requirements for the precalculation)
Material pricing Bill of materials positions Quantities Certain basic definitions need to be established in order to obtain an accurate result: The precalculation calculates the production costs from material costs (bills of materials) and manufacturing cost (routings). Material pricing You need to use material pricing to specify the price that should be used for bill of materials positions (purchased parts or assemblies). For purchased parts this can be the SAP calculation method, the last EK or any price list. The material price for assemblies is usually a calculated price. For an end product calculation, all assemblies in the bill of material structure are also calculated. Bill of materials positions The bill of materials positions entered are now given a price from material pricing, multiplied by the number for each position (material costs). Resources The cost rates recorded for the resources form the basis for calculating production costs. Routing The individual procedures are entered in the routing and allocated to a resource. The cost rate recorded in the resource is multiplied by the job time to give the production costs. Resources (cost rates) Routing Times 11/17/2018

Working with the calculation(Calculation template)
A calculation template forms the basis of a calculation. You are strongly recommended to create a separate calculation template that overwrites the "standard" template with every update. The easiest way of creating a new template is to use the "Copy" button. Overheads (calculation objects) A calculation template contains calculation objects that are copied when copying a template. You can amend, delete or add to these. 11/17/2018
11
Working with the calculation (Calculation objects)
When creating or editing a calculation object, you can specify the appearance and behavior of an object. 1: This is where the name, color and, if necessary, an image is stored 2: This is where you can make a charge to another object and specify what it refers to. 3: If there is no reference, a charge can be split according to marginal costs and full costs as a percentage or recorded as a fixed value 4: When a production order is completed, any costs incurred can be posted to separate accounts. A relevant account can be recorded for each calculation object (only when continual inventory maintenance has been activated). 11/17/2018
12
Working with the calculation (Precalculation - product calculation)
A conventional product calculation can be created from the precalculation. Use "New" to select an item and the calculation template to be used. If a margin needs to be calculated using the calculation, you need to enter a sales price. 11/17/2018
13
Working with the calculation (Precalculation - product calculation)
A full copy of the item with all bill of materials and routing structures is copied into the calculation to generate the precalculation. You can now change this, if you wish. Individual assemblies or purchased parts can be deleted or added; operations and cost rates can be changed or deleted. Even items that do not exist in the item master at the time of construction can be added and any quantity or price can be assigned to them. However, please note that all changes are only made in this calculation and not in the item master!!! 11/17/2018
14
Working with the calculation (Precalculation - order calculation)
Start calculation You can go straight from the order or quotation calculation into the calculation. If there is more than one order position, then there will be more than one calculation. Edit calculation The calculation can now be amended as detailed in "Product calculation". If the quotation is converted into a customer order, the calculation is also transferred. Creating a production order If you use the "Customer order to production order" function to create a production order, this will be created from the calculation that is stored and not from the item master (see also training unit "10 Production"). 11/17/2018
15
Working with the calculation (Precalculation - batch precalculation)
You can use batch precalculation to precalculate several items or item ranges; the result can be copied into price lists or used to specify entry prices (standard costs). This also makes it possible to respond to master data changes that have an impact on manufactured items, which can be recalculated, with the amended prices being transferred into the relevant price lists or price fields. You can use "New" to create a new batch calculation. 1: This is where you can enter a name and set the limits for the item range 2: Depending on the calculation template that needs to be used, you can specify here whether manufactured parts only should be calculated or whether purchased parts should also be calculated, and which should be calculated You can also specify which prices should be copied from the calculation template into which price fields or price lists. 3: There is also the option, for example, to enter a cost of sales price as a standard cost price for the items concerned. For security reasons, this price is not copied automatically. You need to go to the "Results" tab to do this retrospectively. 11/17/2018
16
Working with the calculation (Precalculation - batch precalculation)
1: You can access the latest and previous calculations from the "Results" tab, where the result is displayed. You can set the columns however you wish, so that the relevant information can be shown and other information can be hidden. Results can also be transferred to Excel to enable you to conduct further analyses. 2: You can use the "Inventory revaluation" button to update the "standard cost" price for the items concerned. You can use "Valuation at" to specify which price should be taken from the calculation template. 11/17/2018
17
Working with the calculation (Final calculation - individual calculation via the work order)
An updated calculation or a final calculation can be made based on individual work orders. You can use the "Final calculation" button to call up the final calculation for the selected work order. You can select a separate calculation template and, if necessary, separate pricing. However, you are recommended to copy the default "Entry price". In this instance, the actual entry results are accessed . 11/17/2018
18
Working with the calculation (Final calculation - individual calculation via the work order)
After using "Start" to call up the calculation, the result is displayed. You can use the "VK" button to switch between marginal cost and full cost values. 1: The target/actual display can be changed on the "Target/Actual calculation" tab. This enables you to compare production planned costs to actual costs incurred. 4: Production costs = Total of material costs (2) and manufacturing costs (3) 11/17/2018
19
Working with the calculation (Final calculation - batch final calculation)
As with batch precalculation, you can perform a batch final calculation for several items, item ranges or work orders for a specific period. To do this, use the "New" button to create a new batch final calculation. 1: Enter a short name in this section and specify the limits (item, order, period, etc.) 2: As with the final calculation for a work order, you can select a separate calculation template or separate pricing. If the batch calculation has been created, you can start the calculation by clicking on the "Calculate" button. As a final calculation can be performed for all items concerned, the length of time will vary depending on item quantities and the bill of material structure. If necessary, you can also create several "Batch final calculations" for a number of items and thus distribute the quantities. 11/17/2018
20
Working with the calculation (Final calculation - batch final calculation)
You can access the latest and previous calculations from the "Results" tab, where the result is displayed. All work orders with the relevant calculation parameters are displayed. The list display and options to amend it as you wish enable you to enter values quickly, where such values lie outside the required results. Results can also be transferred to Excel to enable you to perform further analyses. 11/17/2018
