MARIA CURIE In 1995 Maria's ashes were enshrined in the Pantheon. The Pantheon is France's memorial to its nation's heroes. She was the first woman to receive this honor. Maria Curie, one of the most famous scientists in the world, dedicated her life to physics and chemistry. Maria Curie was born on November 7, 1867, in Warsaw, Poland.

In 1891, she went to Paris to continue her studies at the Sorbonne where she obtained Licentiateships in Physics and the Mathematical Sciences. She went to Paris and she met Pierre Curie, Professor in the school she study, in the following year they were married. She was born in Warsaw on November 7, 1867 : death of Pierre Curie in 1906,
