1 Member Kit

2 Introduction To lead, inspire and embrace positive change with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians in the Australian media sector Media RING Members work together to create pathways for Indigenous people to enter the Australian media industry and grow successful and sustainable careers within it. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians make up 2.6% of population. After decades of action, Indigenous representation on screen is now reflecting community levels but there is still underrepresentation in employment levels of Indigenous people in the Australian screen and media industries, which highlights a need to address employment and career pathways. With many media organisations having developed Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) and Indigenous Engagement Strategies, partnerships, actions and projects have demonstrated results in boosting Indigenous employment figures within our industries. The Media RING is an incorporated organisation with an aim to lead, inspire and embrace positive change with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians in the Australian media sector. Media RING members are encouraged to: Attend Media RING Member Connect Events Support the strategic goals of the Media RING Participate and collaborate on Media RING projects Network with other Media RING Members Review the quarterly member newsletter
