Fig 2 Gene expression of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-10, IL-18, vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM-1), monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 9 and MMP-12 in grafted hearts of control, lipid nanoparticles (LDE)-paclitaxel (PACLI), LDE-methotrexate (MTX), and LDE-PACLI/LDE-MTX groups. Total RNA was isolated from cardiac tissue and pooled samples of each group (n=3 per group) were reverse transcribed into complementary DNA. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was applied to calculate the relative gene expression of target genes comparing the mean of the pool of grafted hearts of control group vs with the mean of the pool of LDE-PACLI, LDE-MTX and LDE-PACLI/LDE-MTX groups. Data are expressed as the pooled mean of each group. The Annals of Thoracic Surgery , DOI: ( /j.athoracsur ) Copyright © 2017 The Society of Thoracic Surgeons Terms and Conditions
