Don’t Stop working now! Keep an eye on your grades
Use good study skills Practice good time management Don’t lose your focus—graduation is closer than you think!

AP courses If you take AP courses, your AP scores are important. Each college treats them differently, but sometimes you can validate a course (which saves money and time) if you pass the AP test. Some colleges will even give you credit AND a grade! (A for a 5, B for a 4, etc.) You will be able to choose whether you want the credit and grade.
21
Bright futures Continue earning service hours for this scholarship. You will need 100 hours to qualify for the highest level: the Academic Scholar. (This level also requires a 3.5 GPA and a 1290 SAT or 29 ACT) APPLY NOW Bright Futures levels – 100% tuition covered (highest level) 75% tuition covered (middle level) and 30% tuition covered (lowest level/vocational only)
22
scholarships You should begin to look at scholarship opportunities with your parents and your College Success Coach. College Board is a good resource to start and also check with your guidance office, school websites and FASTWEB. Pay attention to the qualifications for each one and the DEADLINES to apply. Some are pretty early in your senior year.
23
SAT or act? Colleges will take either score. You do not have to take both. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch will be able to take each test 2 times using a waiver. See guidance for this waiver. You need to take the SAT at least once using a waiver. (This does not include the in school SAT). This allows you to qualify for waivers this year when you apply to colleges! Go to SAT prep sessions if they are offered. Use Khan Academy for independent practice. Consider retaking if your scores are getting close to qualifying for Bright Futures
