ITEMS TO BE COVERED Distribution Vaults Niche Designs and Applications
Screening Ventilation Questions
4
Distrubution vaults Fire rated room designed to be stand alone structure on customer’s property Designed to be watertight with sump pit or drain for any fluid infiltration 6” curb integrated into vault room design to be SPCC compliant
5
Niche designs and applications
Mesh designs can be created to feed out to other service types like pad mounted transformers or single phase services Ability to supply multiple secondary voltages to a single Customer i.e. 4160V, 480V, 240V & 208V Allows for future expansion of service if requirements are met at the time service is required
6
SCREENING Underground qualified services receive a pad mounted switch & pad mounted transformer as a standard service installation There are a few factors that may cause a switch to non-standard vault service
7
SCREENING FACTORS FOR REQUESTING VAULT SERVICE: For aesthetic appeal
Building is constructed near or to the full extent of property line To condense space required for services with multiple pieces of equipment
8
VENTILATION Dedicated self-contained air handling unit(s) are supplied to provide conditioned air to the vault The air condition (A/C) ventilation system is designed to maintain an ambient room temperature not to exceed 75 degrees Fahrenheit
9
VENTILATION The A/C equipment is designed to remove a minimum BTU/HR produced by the electrical equipment when installed The A/C duct system is a closed system, allowing no exchange of conditioned air or return air with any other ventilation system or building space
