17 Chagrin Football Tiger Tackling

18 Emphasis on Safety Explored different ways to teach the tackle
Experimented with Pete Carroll’s “Hawk Tackle” (promoted by USA FOOTBALL)- Heads Up Football Listened to esteemed college coaches such as: Luke Fickell, Pat Fitzgerald, Vince Kehres, Pat Narduzzi, and Chris Ash Implemented the “Tiger Tackle” in 2016, modified in 2017 Reduction in head injuries; 2015= 9; 2016= 5; 2017= 4

19 How We Tackle! - Tiger Tackle
Shoulder leverage tackle (head is completely out of tackle) Track near hip with outside shoulder leverage; strike with an upper cut across the body of ball carrier Hips roll forward as to support the impact on shoulder Opposite arm wraps and pulls hip/thigh to bring ball carrier to ground. Feet always moving until whistle blown or ball carrier is on the ground. “Drive for Five”
