Population Census in Sri Lanka
Population Censuses in Sri Lanka commenced in 1871, first Population Census in South Asia Census ordinance of 1868, amended over the years provides the legal framework for Census taking. Continued covering every decade except in 90’s. Generally conducted once in every 10 years, on years ending ‘0’ or ‘1’
