13 AP Biology Warning This course is HARD.
You will struggle but you will succeed if you are willing to work hard. You must STUDY. No way around it. You must be present.

14 AP Biology Exams  will mimic the AP exam Labs Will be paper based
No phones Calculator permitted (but no phone calculators) All tests will contain MC questions and free response questions No re-tests, but there will be opportunities to earn lost points back Labs 25% of this course is spent doing lab investigations These labs will be reflected on the AP exam in May You need a LAB NOTEBOOK: preferably one with graph lined paper This is good documentation for college lab credit

15 AP Biology Strategies & Activities
You need this book: The Survival of the Sickest by Dr. Sharon Moalem This course will have a LOT of reading (both in and out of class) There will not be as much lecture as you may be used to Lot of group work, collaboration, partner discussion, class discussion

16 AP Scores & AP Credit Most colleges require a 4 or 5 (some accept a 3) on the AP exam to earn college credit for the course Scores of 3 and up indicate the student is ready for college level work. Students who take an AP course (even if they don’t score a 3, 4, or 5) are still better prepared for college than those who don’t experience the AP program
