Civilization means it can have…
Cities High population; lots of buildings. A central government run by official leaders Government controls people and resources. Workers who have various jobs Officials, priests, artisans, etc. Writing Written language keeps track of things. Art Art expresses culture. Architecture Buildings are designed in a certain way

So…. What happens when we go outside our textbook?
How is the word “civilization” used today? Advanced Progressed Example: “The U.S. is a civilized country, but the country of Nepal is not. It is uncivilized.” Would our textbook think that the ______ people were a civilization? Why or why not? …would you?
