WHERE DO I STAND? Check your student’s unofficial transcript on your parent portal account Inow.sccboe.org Enter your individual username/password Students completed registration for the 2018/2019 school year so they have their usernames/passwords. If not, me and I will send it to you.

Am I On Track for Graduation?
Compare your student’s transcript to the requirements for graduation (see next slide) Review your student’s registration requests over the next week to ensure he/she has signed up for the classes needed to graduate (log in to inow)

Requirements for Graduation
Diploma 4 English 4 Math 4 Science 4 History (Not Alabama History) Career Preparedness Physical Education Health 3 CTE/FL/FA Electives Minimum Credits: 24 Advanced Endorsement: In addition to the standard requirement, the Advanced Endorsement requires one math ABOVE Algebra II with Trig, 2 Foreign Language credits in the same language, and 3 AP/Dual Enrollment Courses

When to start applying? Most 4 year schools have priority deadlines in the fall – take the ACT! September and October test dates will have scores available by fall deadlines December test date will have scores available by late January deadlines Most technical schools/community colleges have “rolling enrollment” – Deadlines are generally for scholarship purposes only Deadlines are normally in the spring February ACT test date will have scores available by Spring deadlines

FINANCIAL AID Types: How Do I Apply? Grants, Loans, Workstudy programs
October of senior year, log onto and fill out the information. You will use the tax information from the 2017 calendar year. You will receive notification from FAFSA and then then student will work with the financial aid office of the school he/she plans to attend. Go to fafsa4caster now to determine if your student will qualify for financial aid.

AP Information Students taking AP Courses will take AP exams starting May 1 depending on the AP class that they are taking. Depending on the score made on their exam, they may be exempt from the college class that the class is aligned with. The following website will share more information: apstudent.collegeboard.org Enter the college you are considering and then look for AP class that you are in
