4 Army ROTC 4-Year College Scholarship Program
Tips for Successful Scholarship Navigation Visit the Army ROTC Departments when you visit colleges Each one is different. Different size, different facilities, different perspectives. The best way to find the one that is right for you is to get to know them. Schedule an overnight visit with the ROTC Battalion There is no better way to understand what a day-in-the-life is really like. Conduct your scholarship interview at the school you most want to attend This is the place where you may spend the next 4 years in ROTC. Get to know it as well as you can ahead of time. There are other scholarship opportunities available on campus. Making yourself known to the battalion gives you an opportunity to compete for them. That school has a vested interest in you. Get to know them. Maintain contact with an ROTC Enrollment Officer The Scholarship process can be confusing. Enrollment Officers at ROTC units have access to information and are able to assist and provide guidance during this process. Keep them updated with new information – Have you won a new award? Been selected Captain of a team? Improved your SAT score? Don’t give up If you are not selected for a 4-year ROTC scholarship, you can still enroll in ROTC and earn 2,3 and 4-year scholarships once on campus. Common Questions to ask an ROTC Department Are you a host or partner? Do I have to travel to get to class or is it on-campus? Does your school offer Room and Board to scholarship winners? Does your school offer academic credit for ROTC classes? Do they count toward my GPA? Does your school offer a military science minor? Does your school offer rooms for cadets only?
