2. 1. The moon is ¼ the size of the Earth

3. 2. Giant Impact Theory: It is believed the Earth was hit by an object about the size of Mars and part of the Earth broke into pieces as did the object that hit the Earth. Over the course of millions of years, the debris stuck together to form the moon.

4. 3. We see the moon because of the sun reflecting off it

4. If we were to look at the moon from space, we would see ½ of the moon is always lit, but the amount we see depends on where it is in its revolution and the angle of the moon in reference to the Earth and the sun

8 This is because the Earth is also constantly moving, so the moon has to catch up
